VU+ Duo2 white blinking LED – Fixing the power supply

VU+ Duo2 white blinking LED – Fixing the power supply

One day i heard a the HDD of my VU+ Duo2 clicking. Afer a power cycle there was only a flashing blinking white LED on the receiver.

After i opend the box i saw the swelled capacitors (C8/C9) on the power supply.

I removed one and make a short measurement and there was only 118.5µF left.

This are two 25V 1500µF capacitors.

You can buy this at several stores here is one from „reichelt elektronik“:

If you want to buy it somewhere else, look for a „low ESR“ version.

I removed the old ones and solder the new ones in and put the power supply back into the receiver.

After the replacement my box boots normaly.

  3. Many thanks. The mains power to my house was low voltage for 2-3hrs. When the power was restored I had the same issue and did a search and found your tutorial 👌🏻👍🏻
On looking at the 2 capacitors they also looked swelled.
Just ordered some off eBay for £3.80 delivered

    https://ebay.us/m/XSatDL

The link in your tutorial for some reason they don’t deliver to the UK, seems they deliver everywhere but the UK 🤪🤷🏼
They should be here next week so fingers crossed my box will be fixed as well once they are swapped out 🤞🏻
    Thanks for the help 👍🏻
